Bit fiddly, easy to miss-align it in your motherboard IDE socket otherwise I would give it a five. Once fitted works a treat.

No power cable included in the set is annyoing.
In the begging the converter was not detectable by BIOS. To make it work be sure that converter is covering all pins of IDE port (the last two pins on down are very often missed).
Its about 2.5x faster than my IDE harddisk (tested with hdparm -t in Linux):
33.2MB/s vs 81.4MB/s
Quite good product.

Pretty flimsy construction.
No SATA power cable so I had to go and purchase separately.
Could not get my computer to recognise the drive so not sure how it functions.
I would opt for the SATA drive plug in rather than the motherboard.

I used this product to connect a 250GB sata laptop 2.5" hardrive to my PC. The first one was faulty and I was sent a replacement straight away.
It is so easy to install, connect the adapter to the motherboard via IDE, connect the power cable to the board (this cable only supplies power to the board and not to the sata device). Next connect the sata data cable. The only additional cable required is a power cable from the PSU to power the hardrive.
Before you buy look inside your PC for clearance, mine was a tight squeeze.

Got this to install a 1Tb hard drive inside my ageing PC.
I didn't want to replace the motherboard because it had no sata socket, and as everything was working ok, why ditch it.
1Tb hard drives for the normal/old IDE are non existant, and I wanted to keep all of my music on one hard drive, system on't'other.
This little board and connection cables allow you to connect a new SATA drive to your old IDE socket inside your old computer. It works. Buy it!
